“Sherlock” is a British crime drama television series based on the Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The series premiered on BBC One on 25 July 2010, and has aired three seasons, with a fourth season in production. The show follows the adventures of Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and his friend Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman) as they solve crimes in modern-day London.
The third season of “Sherlock” premiered on 1 January 2014, and consisted of three episodes. The first episode, titled “The Empty Hearse”, saw Sherlock return to London after a two-year absence. The episode was a critical and commercial success, and was watched by over 9 million viewers in the UK.
